I must admit to feeling very concerned about the risks that so many people are taking in regards to their financial survival, not to mention wellbeing.

Most Western countries are only just beginning to experience the effects of many years of fraudulent abuse of their economies by the greedy super-rich and politicians. It now means that the majority of people in each of these countries face a bleak future!

Unless urgent action is taken to protect ourselves and those we love, many people could be destitue in the not too distant future.

So, what I am urging everyone who doesn’t have one in place, is to immediately put into action a “Plan B” strategy.

By that I mean, we can no longer rely solely upon the traditional careers or small-busineses that have promised lifelong security. A means with which to have a comfortable lifestyle and worry-free retirement.

Now, everyone needs to have an additional way of creating a secondary income stream, so that should your current employment ever be jeopardised, you have that other scource of income to support you.

And, for the vast majority of people, Network Marketing can be that alternative. This industry generally requires very little capital, can be a part-time, home-based business. And reputable companies provide excellent support, training and resources.

If you don’t have a “Plan B” in place yet, I urge you to do so and make sure the economic chaos that is now beginning to take place will not only pass you by, but you’ll also have the opportunity to have a share in the transfer of wealth that always occurs in what are labelled ‘tough times’.

Well, times they certainly are a-changin’, not least of all in the impact that Social Media is having upon Network Marketing.

In just a few short years, Social Media has become a buzz-word not just in Network Marketing, but also in the majority of industries.

Just using one example of the massive growth of Social Media, Facebook has now apparently grown to over 750 million members world-wide. The numbers of people who use this form of communication at any minute of the day runs into the millions.

So, as far as the Network Marketing industry is concerned, SM is having a dramatic effect. It’s really become a vital method with which to make contact and build relationships with prospects for our industry. We are all using SM to build our businesses with, to varying degrees.

And this is an enjoyable way to go, but there are unwritten rules we must observe, particularly taking-care to make sure we are not pushy and seen to be blatantly using our SM contacts purely for our own benefit.

Just like in all business-building efforts, we need to have respect for others, and always be certain to place emphasis on helping people,and not using them.

So, the combination of Social Media and Network Marketing is here to stay, and will likely continue to grow stronger.

Recently, I was sent a link to a video that dealt with the scary direction that college and university education has taken over the last few years in the USA. And this isn’t exclusive to that country; it occurs in most western countries.

One of the areas dealt with is how these institutions continue to exclude such vital student education such as life-skills, personal development and business skills.

In other words, the so-called higher-educatiuon syllabuses completely ignore those practical skills that are just as vital for young people about to enter the demanding areas of the workforce, and dealing with people.

Not to mention the extraordinary costs of higher-education! Nowadays, most young graduates, despite having an impressive degree, diploma or certificate, not only are unable to find employment that they’ve been educated for, but they have masive debts already!

Then, those who are fortunate enough to find the work they’ve been educated for, over a period of four or five years, often earn a paltry salary for the first few years.

One of my missions in life is to make young people aware that many of those with  a college/university education rarely develop wealth during their working lives. The system is structured so that people on salaries or wages, in the majority of cases, are asset-poor.

As Robert Kiyosaki teaches, in order to become wealthy we need to develop a business using duplication and leverage, and create a passive income stream. This sort of business creates a “walk-away income”. In other words, it becomes ‘self-managing’ in time.

There’s no better way to develop this ideal business scenario than with a Network Marketing business. There are hundreds of different legitimate Companies that offer this structure, and there are millions of people around the world earning significant part or full-time incomes with them.

In my case, I offer two such opportunities, both in the online field, which are ideal for young people to avoid relying on professional type employment, and be able to create the lifestyle that most people want to have.

Yesterday I was again priveleged to attend another of Ed Ludbrook’s webinars on learning to be a successul Network Marketing coach.

Well, during that webinar he explained a theory that really made sense to me, and in a way contradicts a lot of the instructions that are abundant in personal development training.

There is a lot of emphasis placed on us coaches to encourage, including new people we sponsor, to set their goals, dream big, and make these goals their primary motivating force.

Well, that’s always made a lot of sense to me, and it’s the way I’ve approached things with my vision boards, affirmations, etc.

But Ed pointed-out that for many folks, especially people starting a new home-based business, that initially setting the ‘big’ goals isn’t the smart way to become self-motivated. Many people, probably the majority who decide to work from home, just don’t believe they deserve, or are capable of having, that dream home, luxury car; or see themselves capable of earning ten thousand bucks a month!

So with lots of people new to Network Marketing, setting their goals in that format may well de-motivate them, and they quickly lose heart and give-up.

What makes a lot of sense to me now, is that most people, initially at least, want to get-away from many unpleasant and distressing things in their lives. They want to get away from crushing debts, leave their inadequate home in a crappy neighbourood, get their kids out of a scary school environment, etc.

So, when it’s a choice of ‘gain motivation’ or ‘pain motivation’, it’s the ‘pain’ one that the majority of people use to self-motivate themselves with. And, as professional Network Marketing coaches, we need to be aware of this.

Then, as people begin to  build a little success in their business, they start to feel more confident in their ability to actually achieve some of the lifestyle that would love to live, setting the ‘gain’ goals becomes the method they can use to become self-motivated.

In future I will be more concious of encouraging my team-members to consider which type of self-motivation will be most effective in helping them build a successful home based Network Marketing business and develop a significant passive income.

When I refer to this phrase within the Network Marketing industry, I’m referring to the importance of Sponsorship.

In this industry, when we recruit a new partner into our business, we Sponsor them. And in so doing, we have assumed the role of being a Leader; leading the way to assist that new person learn all the skills they need so that in turn, they also become a Leader.

And to me, the word Sponsor really means responsibility. We have taken-on the responsibilty to teach and coach our new Distributor so that they learn what they need to know about the technical and personal elements of our business, until they are confident-enough to stand on their own two feet, and no longer need us.

One of the many gratifying rewards in this relationship is that in most cases we develop a lifelong friendship, so it soon becomes much more than just a business relationship! We have a great time assisting each other from then on.

Of course, this is a two-way street. Our new Distributor/Partner needs to be motivated and have the desire to learn everything they need to know to be successful. And they need to be coachable and follow what we teach them.

If they aren’t, well our sponsoring responsibility isn’t really desired. In cases like this, we make sure we are always available, but concentrate on those in our business who ‘put their hand up’ and who really want to build a successful Network Marketing business.

Eric Worre has made a great video here which covers this situation.

One question Eric asks in this video, is “Would you like to be Sponsored by you?” My answer to that is a definite YES! Because when I Sponsor a new Distributor who is serious and committed, I put every effort into helping that person achieve their dreams.

In the opinion of this writer, we are now in a totally NEW and different economy! Those who realise that, will at least survive…….some of us, will thrive and benefit! Which category are you in?

There’s a major transfer of wealth taking place, and it’s really a case of being a part of it, taking advantage of it, or living a life of lack. It’s as serious as that!

Many of the once prosperous nations, particularly the USA, many European countries and the UK have massive debts, ranging from billions to trillions of $$$’s! There is only one word to describe the situations were they individual people: they are BANKRUPT!

So, what sort of future do the MAJORITY of people living in these countries, and most other Western countries, including “the lucky country”, have? Well, that depends entirely upon the choices they make, not some time down the line, but immediately! Action must be taken now!

What options are there in order for a person to leave the OLD economy behind, and embrace the NEW economy? Really, very few.

Things like job-security, corporate advancement and small business will, in the majority of cases, no longer provide us with a secure future for our families and friends. Increasing unemployment is sucking the life out of these areas. The ones who have most to gain in the NEW economy will be Entrepreneurs. They are now providing and creating economic growth and prosperity.

And the Entrepreneurs that are creating and providing the greatest growth and prosperity are  the Network Marketing Professionals. And, you know what? This isn’t an exclusive club such as those that have previously been exclusive to priveleged, wealthy families.

Up until just a few years ago, the network marketing industry was surviving using a ‘mud at the wall’ scenario.

We were taught, ‘it’s a numbers game’. Show enough people and a minority would join us, and a small minority of those would make a serious commitment, take massive action, and enjoy the success that can be achieved in this marvellous industry.

But the network marketing profession has lately undergone some very subtle, but significant, changes.

Now, it’s a very sophisticated industry, involving many thousands of companies, some of them owned by extremely successful business-people such as Donald Trump and Warren Buffet. And many successful professionals, business-owners and corporate leaders now realise the value of having an internet marketing business for their Plan B / Exit Strategy.

The network marketing profession is now $120 billion in annual sales, with over 60 million people involved and is operated in nearly every country around the world.

As I mentioned in Pt 1 of this article below, the industry had been successfully using a fifty year old business model. That no longer works, as it paid little regard to how people are sponsored and trained. It relied-upon attracting a few leaders, disregarding those to whom leadership doesn’t come naturally.

Nowadays, people need to be treated as individuals, and provided with personal, hands-on coaching, support and encouragement. In other words, we must befriend them, gain their trust and assist them to build a business which will provide a secure and reliable income that within time will provide them the security that this unique industry offers.

Established network marketing professionals, as well as newcomers, need to learn the new ways I mentioned above, and there is a company who is leading the way in providing the essential training for this. Being a very experienced Network Marketer, I’ve come to the realisation that our industry is now vastly different to how it was operating previously.

Ever since my introduction to network marketing, I’ve understood the principal of the power of leverage and duplication with which to create serious passive income, and a legacy to pass-on to our children and their children. And that principle still is, and always will be, one of my driving forces.

And despite so many stories you hear about people failing, or achieving little success, there are reasons, many of which simply relate to human nature.

That is, many people never really take the effort to do what’s necessary to achieve success.   And the failures that occur as a result of these sorts of attitudes result in claims that the industry is at fault, when in actual fact the people who ‘dabble’ or ‘give it a try’ for a few weeks, are themselves to blame. And of course, this happens in many other areas, not just in our industry.

We cannot expect others to change our world. We must all do that ourselves!

The driving principle in network marketing is just, use the product or service, then show people how they can benefit from them as well. Then, when two or three friends/contacts decide to join you and take advantage of what you offer, we help them to do the same and duplicate their efforts.

In other words, duplication creates leverage, resulting in exponential-growth. It’s a case of many people each doing a little, that adds up to a lot! And, all each person’s had to do is introduce two or three.

In the process we gain a few customers each, and we all get paid a little money on the sales that naturally occur. Can’t get a much better win-win than that, can you?  And unlike any other form of business, when you join a legitimate network marketing company, the investment is so small, there’s almost no financial risk, and you can work the business part-time until it’s safe to be full-time.

And, by WORKING a network marketing business with proper coaching and support, it’s likely that within a year or two, a monthly passive income of $5,000 or more will result. That’s the same as having $1,200,000 cash in your bank @ 5% pa! Who do you know that can save that much money in their lifetime, without any initial capital, much less in a couple of years, or less? Very few, most likely!

In my next article I’ll be discussing the enormous growth of the network marketing industry, and how it is dramatically evolving. My intention is to inform, and add value.

In this ever-changing world, one of the fastest changes that’s occurring is how businesses of all sizes and shapes are turning towards social media for answers to their marketing needs.

Why is this happening?

Well, for one thing, the cost of traditional forms of advertising is becoming so horrendous that many businesses, particularly small to medium ones, can no longer afford it.

Gone are the days when the ROI for most small to medium businesses was profitable enough to justify ads in the yellow pages, radio and daily newspapers.

Nowadays it’s almost impossible for many businesses to consider those mediums.

As for televion advertising, that’s now definitely out of the question for many stand-alone businesses. Those that are still able to advertise on TV generally belong to a franchise group, or are part of a nationwide chain.

Of course, as most of us know, the most effective and profitable form of advertising is, and has always been, word-of-mouth.

And that’s where, in my opinion, social media slots in so beautifully. Because our natural instinct is to socialise, that form of media enables us to do just, that without having to leave our homes.

So, instead of having to go out when times and weather conditions may not be conduceive, we can meet new people and make new friends with forums such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

And it’s because of the interactions that occur withing these types of online gathering places that small to medium buseinesses are seeing opportunities to effectively expand their customer-bases.

Social media, as a means of being where businesses are heading, is really only in it’s infancey. I foresee that this trend will grow dramatically during the coming months and years, and possibly change the face of marketing forever.
